White King Puto is a traditional Filipino steamed rice cake that is soft and fluffy. It is made with high-quality ingredients and has a light, airy texture. Recipe:

PUTO PAO

  • 2 packs - White King Puto Mix 200g
  • 2 cups   - water  
  • 1 cup     - granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup  - cooking oil 
  • 1-210g   - corned beef     
                  butter or margarine, for brushing tops

1.  Boil water up to 3/4 full in a steamer. Grease puto molds. Set aside.  
2.  Cook corned beef until sauce dries up. Set aside. 3.  In a mixing bowl, add the water to the White King Puto Mix; stir and blend well; add sugar and oil gradually and mix until very smooth.    
4.  Pour batter up to 1/4 full of the puto molds; add a teaspoonful of corned beef, add more batter up to 3/4 full of the molds.    
5.  Arrange puto molds inside steamer and steam for 20-25 minutes or until surface is shiny and bounces back when pressed. Brush surface with butter or margarine.

Note: Sisig or flaked tuna may also be used as filling Makes 40-48 puto pao

Per 200g pack you will need:

1 cup       water   
1/2 cup    sugar   
5 Tbsp    cooking oil

1.  Boil water in a steamer.   
2.  Combine White King Puto Mix and sugar in a bowl. Gradually add water and mix until well blended.         Add in the oil and continue mixing until the batter becomes smooth. Pour batter into molds, about 3/4 full.  
3.  
Steam for 15-20 minutes. Puto is cooked when surface is shiny and bounces back when pressed. Brush the surface with Butter or Margarine.

Makes 10 medium-sized puto or 2 dozens mini puto per 200g pack.
