Konnyaku is a rubbery, flavorless zero-calorie food made of yams that are high in fiber and added to various Japanese foods for its squishy texture.
Konnyaku is the Japanese name for the konjac plant. The root of the konjac plant can be processed in to a rather bouncy food item. You may have seen noodles made of konjac labelled as Miracle Noodles or Shirataki
Konnyaku products are notoriously smelly when you take them out the package. They are typically packaged in water and need to be rinsed.

Usage:
Use for stir-fry, soup, hot pot.
Preparation:
Open the package in a bowl or over the sink. The water will smell a little odd; drain it all away. Rinse
the konnyaku or shirataki briefly under cold running water, then blanch in boiling water for a few 2-3 minutes, or until the water comes up to a boil, and drain well before using!
