Hopia Ube (Taro Pastry)
Hopia is a Chinese-Filipino pastry traditionally filled with either mung beans (Hopia Mongo) or wintermelon (cooked in pork fat more commonly knowned as Hopia Baboy).
Apopular Filipino bean filled pastry originally introduced by Fujianese immigrants in urban centres of the Philippines around the start of the American civil occupation. It is a widely-available inexpensive treat and a favoured gift for friends and relatives.
Ingredients:
Purple Yam paste (35%), White Bean paste, Whey Powder (Milk), Corn Oil, Palm Oil, Wheat Flour, Water, Salt, Colours E133 & E129.

Usage:
Ideal as a snack.
Preparation:
- Microwave - 30 seconds or until soft
- Toaster - Thaw then toast for 5 minutes
- Pan Grill - Thaw then grill for 2 minutes on each side
Storage:
If you do not freeze it, shelf life is up to 14 days.
