Shaoxing wine is one of the most famous varieties of huangjiu, or traditional Chinese wines, fermented from rice. It originates from the region of Shaoxing, in the Zhejiang province of eastern China. It is widely used as both a beverage and a cooking wine in Chinese cuisine.

Add depth of flavour to Chinese marinades, stir-fries and dumplings. Shaoxing wine is a type of Chinese rice wine that has a deep, amber colour, fruity flavour and slightly sweet aroma.

Shaoxing rice wine can be drunk like any other wine, as well as being used in dumpling fillings, and even to deglaze woks.
