Spice Paste for Szechuan Kung Pao Stir Fry

Sweet & peppery stir fry sauce. A tantalising combination of dried chilli peppers and rich, aromatic spices, this paste sachet provides a punch of pungent Kung Pao heat to your Szechuan-style stir fries in an instant. Sweetly seasoned to ensure a classic black pepper kick is flavoured throughout your ingredients, this paste adds the sauce depth of flavour needed to perfect the famous Chinese dish, with garlic and soy sauce adding a succulent texture to squeeze the spice from.

Ingredients:

Sugar, Soybean Oil, Distilled Vinegar, Dried Chillies (8%), Salt, Onions, Black Peppercorn, Soy Sauce(Soybean, Wheat Flour, Salt, Sugar, Hydrolysed Protein from Soy), Garlic, Colour (Caramel (150c)), Acid Regulator (Citric Acid).

Storage

Keep away from direct sunlight and store in a cool, dry place. Once opened, use immediately.

Preparations:

• Heat oil in a frying pan or wok on medium-high heat. Coat your choice of chicken or tofu in cornstarch or cornflour.
• Add the chicken/tofu to the pan and stir fry for 1 minute. Add the spice paste and stir fry for another 2 minutes.
• Add 1 tablespoon of Chinese Wine or sherry port and stir fry until meat is cooked. Add optional nuts for crunchy texture and serve hot with rice or noodles
