Spice Paste for Szechuan Chilli Ginger Garlic Stir Fry

This spice paste combines garlic, red chillies and ginger to bring the flavours from Szechuan to your every day stir-fry.

Product of Thailand.

 

Ingredients:

Tomato Paste, Garlic (18.5%), Red Chillies (16.0%), Ginger (11.0%), Sugar, Soybean Oil, Distilled Vinegar, Salt.

Allergen Advice: Contains Soy.

Preparations:

Heat the oil in a wok or pan. Add the spice paste and stir-fry until the aroma is released, then add the meat and stir-fry for another 3 minutes. Add the vegetables or the tofu and continue stir-frying until everything is done. Hot serve with rice.

Storage

Keep away from direct sunlight and store in a cool, dry place. Once opened, use immediately.

Recipe

Szechuan Chilli Ginger Garlic Stir-Fry (Serves 4):

Ingredients:
1 packet Szechuan Ginger Garlic Stir-Fry Spice Paste
350g (3/4 lb) shelled prawns
2 tsp corn starch or corn flour
2-3 tbsp vegetable oil
Spring onions, cut into 2.5 cm (1") length as garnish

Cooking Instructions:
1. Mix corn starch or corn flour with prawns until smooth
2. Heat oil in non-stick wok or pan on medium-high heat. Add prawns and stir fry for 1 minute
3. Lower heat. Add spice paste and stir-fry for 3-5 minutes or until cooked. Garnish and serve hot

Cooking Tip: A combination of tofu and eggplant or seafood may be used instead of prawns
